Cognizant is seeking an experienced File and Block Storage Admin for a full-time remote opportunity in Canada.

In this role, you will:
· The Storage Engineer will be responsible for managing block storage and a fiber channel SAN (Storage Area Network) for the client.
· Provide maintenance and support of the fabric and arrays as required for their day-to-day operation and utilization for disaster recovery activities.
· Perform any required storage provisioning.
· Perform planned maintenance activities on an established cycle.
· Maintain accurate and up to date inventory details in the ticketing system.
· Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network, server, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
· Perform planned upgrades in conjunction with the storage engineering team.
· Monitoring and troubleshooting issues in the fabric, on the arrays and/or with other teams.
· Work with storage requests, incident tickets and changes in a timely manner and work with Helpdesk to resolve issues.
· Serve as subject matter expert for complex storage and fabric-related issues, conducting root cause analysis to minimize downtime and ensure high availability.
· Coordinate and review the capacity needs based on information from the monitoring tools and schedule to add resources.
· ·Proactively participate in storage support issues by identifying, researching, and applying solutions to a wide variety of technical issues.
· Work with 3rd Party vendors and internal customers, interfacing management personnel, to accomplish requested technical tasks.
· Respond to assigned Storage Engineering service requests and provide timely status updates on the progress of ongoing requests.
· Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all storage infrastructure, and develop scripts (e.g., using Python, PowerShell) to automate storage management tasks.
· Follow policies and procedures for change, problem and incident management.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years’ experience with medium-to-large storage environments as Storage Administrator.
· Advanced knowledge and 5+ years of experience in EMC PowerMax and Unity storage arrays including a deep understanding of associated management tools (Unisphere, Symcli).
· Advanced knowledge and 5+ years of experience in Cisco MDS fiber channel SANs.
· Knowledge and 1+ years of experience of Pure Flash Array storage is a strong plus.
· Knowledge and working experience with Unix, Linux, Windows and VMware operating systems.
· Knowledge and working experience with monitoring tools, preferably with SolarWinds.
· Knowledge and working experience with Replication Technologies (SRDF, Unity Replication)
· Strong understanding and practical experience with SAN protocols, including FC and NVMeOF.
· In-depth knowledge of Cisco MDS switches, including SAN fabric design, zoning, and management using tools such as NDFC.
· Good Scripting skills
· Advanced understanding of storage, network, and hardware technologies.
· Analytical and trouble shooting skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
· A methodical and solid background in planning and completing complex tasks.
· Relevant certifications such as Dell EMC certifications or Cisco Certifications.
The salary range for this role is $77,000 to 91,000 CAD.
