Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Originate, deepen, and expand high-value relationships with VIP clients, crypto-native high-volume traders, and institutions primarily in India, with additional APAC coverage where relevant.
  • Design and execute targeted sales strategies to drive market penetration and revenue growth in derivatives trading.
  • Lead and own the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and onboarding, followed by ongoing account management to maximize trading volumes and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain and grow a robust pipeline in CRM, ensuring disciplined tracking, timely follow-up, and reporting against targets.
  • Represent Coinbase at client meetings, industry events, and conferences in India and occasionally in APAC; act as a senior market ambassador.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, compliance, and operational teams to deliver client-centric solutions tailored for the local market.
  • Capture and share market intelligence to influence Coinbase’s competitive positioning, product roadmap, and regional strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in sales, sales & trading, account management, or business development in tier-1 financial institutions, cryptocurrency exchanges, or fintech.
  • Proven origination track record with existing relationships in India among VIP derivatives traders (crypto and/or traditional finance); APAC relationships are a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of derivatives markets, product structures, and risk management principles.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to close complex, high-value deals independently.
  • History of exceeding revenue, volume, and growth targets in prior roles.
  • Strategic and proactive execution style, with ability to operate independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel primarily within India and occasionally to APAC (up to ~30%).
  • English fluency (spoken and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relationships with HNWIs or UHNWIs in India and APAC.
  • Experience in prime brokerage, asset management, hedge funds, or technology platforms catering to institutional traders.
  • Familiarity with India’s regulatory and market landscape for cryptocurrency trading.
