Comcast Cable’s Legal department serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner across the business, supporting innovation, operational excellence, and regulatory integrity. The team provides legal counsel on a wide range of matters—from product development and network operations to customer experience and enterprise systems—ensuring that Comcast’s broadband, wireless, video, and voice services are delivered responsibly to over 57 million customers across the U.S. and Europe.

At the heart of its mission, the Legal department leads the company’s efforts in privacy, compliance, and AI governance, helping shape and evolve policies and programs that protect customer data, uphold ethical standards, and guide the responsible use of emerging technologies.

Role Description

The Legal Tech Intern role is designed for anundergraduate student with an interest in the law or a first-year law studentwho has a strong interest in technology and its application to legal practice.The intern will operate at the intersection of legal and technical teams to support the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of legal technology tools and AI solutions that improve efficiency, data quality, and client service.

During the internship, you will gain practical experience in legal operations, learn about legal technology market trends, and develop best practices for implementing technology in legal environments. You will also build a portfolio of tangible deliverables, such as process maps, evaluation matrices, training materials, and policy-aligned implementation guides.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support cross-functional initiatives to advance legal technology capabilities and adoption.
  • Assist with requirements gathering from legal stakeholders.
  • Map current-state workflows and identify opportunities for automation or standardization.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and pilot testing of legal tech platforms (e.g., compliance, diligence, matter management, e-billing, contract lifecycle management, knowledge management, legal research, e-discovery, document automation).
  • Prepare implementation materials, including playbooks, standard operating procedures, and training guides.
  • Translate legal and policy requirements into functional specifications for technology solutions.
  • Document use cases and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with IT, security, data, and product teams to ensure solutions meet privacy, security, and compliance standards.
  • Support data quality initiatives by assisting with taxonomy, tagging, templates, and metadata standards.
  • Conduct comparative analyses of tools and vendors.
  • Synthesize findings and recommendations into clear memoranda, briefings, and demos for legal leadership.
  • Assist with contract template rationalization and clause library development.
  • Contribute to legal knowledge management initiatives and search optimization.
  • Design or refine dashboards and metrics to measure adoption, cycle times, and matter outcomes.
  • Support change management through communication plans, stakeholder outreach, office hours, and user training.
  • Contribute to research on responsible AI in legal workflows, including risk assessments, governance frameworks, testing protocols, and guardrail documentation, under supervision.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • An undergraduate student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university, as a Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)
  • Candidate may also be a first-year law student
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating) 
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university as a Rising Junior or Rising Senior (graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028) (experience)
  • First-year law student (experience)
  • Returning to degree-program for at least a semester after the internship (returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating) (experience)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week from June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026 (experience)
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs (experience)

  • Collaborative approach to working across legal, compliance, IT, information security, procurement, and operations teams (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Support cross-functional initiatives to advance legal technology capabilities and adoption
  • Assist with requirements gathering from legal stakeholders
  • Map current-state workflows and identify opportunities for automation or standardization
  • Contribute to the evaluation and pilot testing of legal tech platforms (e.g., compliance, diligence, matter management, e-billing, contract lifecycle management, knowledge management, legal research, e-discovery, document automation)
  • Prepare implementation materials, including playbooks, standard operating procedures, and training guides
  • Translate legal and policy requirements into functional specifications for technology solutions
  • Document use cases and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with IT, security, data, and product teams to ensure solutions meet privacy, security, and compliance standards
  • Support data quality initiatives by assisting with taxonomy, tagging, templates, and metadata standards
  • Conduct comparative analyses of tools and vendors
  • Synthesize findings and recommendations into clear memoranda, briefings, and demos for legal leadership
  • Assist with contract template rationalization and clause library development
  • Contribute to legal knowledge management initiatives and search optimization
  • Design or refine dashboards and metrics to measure adoption, cycle times, and matter outcomes
  • Support change management through communication plans, stakeholder outreach, office hours, and user training
  • Contribute to research on responsible AI in legal workflows, including risk assessments, governance frameworks, testing protocols, and guardrail documentation, under supervision
