Role Overview

Join Datadog as a Commercial Account Executive (DACH) and drive net new logo acquisition across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland from our Amsterdam or Dublin offices. Datadog's monitoring and security platform powers cloud-native organizations worldwide, enabling DevOps teams to achieve full-stack observability. This high-impact sales role focuses on bringing our engineer-built SaaS solution to enterprises undergoing digital transformation and cloud migration.

Our sales team follows proven methodologies like MEDDIC to identify customer pain points in infrastructure monitoring, application performance, and security observability. You'll partner with elite Sales Engineers to demonstrate how Datadog eliminates silos between development, operations, and security teams.

Key Responsibilities at Datadog

  • 100% Net New Hunting: Focus exclusively on acquiring new commercial customers for Datadog's observability platform
  • Full Cycle Ownership: Manage entire sales process from initial outreach through contract negotiation and close
  • Technical Demonstrations: Collaborate with Sales Engineers to deliver compelling product demos showcasing Datadog's real-time monitoring capabilities
  • Strategic Prospecting: Leverage Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo to identify and penetrate target accounts in DACH region
  • Executive Engagement: Build relationships with CTOs, VP Engineering, IT Directors, and technical decision makers
  • Account Strategy: Map complex enterprise organizations and develop multi-threaded sales approaches
  • Value Articulation: Quantify Datadog ROI for cloud migration, cost optimization, and MTTR reduction
  • Pipeline Generation: Consistently exceed quarterly quotas through disciplined pipeline management
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, product specialists, and customer success for seamless handoffs

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Hunter Mentality: Demonstrated success closing net new business in SaaS/technology sales
  • Language Fluency: Native/Fluent German speaker with excellent English communication skills
  • Technical Acumen: Passion for cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and observability solutions
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with Salesforce, Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and sales engagement platforms
  • Proven Methodology: Familiarity with MEDDIC, Challenger Sale, or Command of the Message frameworks
  • Account Complexity: Success navigating mid-market to enterprise sales cycles (6-12 months)

Bonus Qualifications: Direct experience selling infrastructure monitoring, APM, or cloud security solutions. Background in serving DACH enterprises undergoing AWS, Azure, or GCP migrations.
