Key Responsibilities at Datadog

  • Partner closely with Account Executives to articulate Datadog's overall value proposition, vision, and strategy during customer meetings.
  • Continuously learn emerging technologies to build competitive knowledge, technical skills, and credibility in cloud observability.
  • Deliver high-impact product and technical presentations to potential clients, showcasing Datadog's infrastructure monitoring capabilities.
  • Maintain a direct line of communication with the product team to collaborate on feature requests driven by customer, competitor, and partner insights.
  • Guide clients through product onboarding processes and provide hands-on assistance when they encounter technical roadblocks.
  • Think creatively to solve a wide variety of technical challenges throughout the pre-sales lifecycle, from discovery to close.
  • Support technical evaluations including POCs, ensuring customers experience Datadog's seamless integration with AWS, Kubernetes, and more.
  • Work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Engineering, and Product teams to resolve concerns and escalate critical bug issues.
  • Serve as a Datadog brand ambassador, fostering long-term relationships with customers and partners in EMEA markets.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as a Commercial Sales Engineer at Datadog, you'll bring:

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with DevOps monitoring or architecture tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
  • Proven comfort delivering technical presentations and demos to external customers or internal stakeholders.
  • Systems administration experience in Linux or Windows environments, with understanding of cloud infrastructure.
  • Creative mindset ready to tackle diverse technical challenges daily in a dynamic SaaS environment.
  • Physical capability to sit up to 4 hours and travel up to 25% via auto, train, or air to client sites.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken); additional Spanish fluency is highly advantageous for Iberian market expansion.
