Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team in Machelen, Belgium. As an integral part of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Manage and maintain financial records, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide insights
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Assist in budgeting and financial planning activities
• Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices

HR related tasks

• Payroll support
• Maintaining of employee master data
• Administration towards Social Security, Insurances, others

Qualifications

Main competences:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably SAP, Exact
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and financial reporting standards of IRFS and local GAP Belgium (preferably also NL)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• CPA certification or equivalent is preferred
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis is a plus
• Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) is beneficial
• Experience in process improvement initiatives is desirable
