Key Responsibilities at Datadog
- Work closely with Legal, Procurement, and internal stakeholders to manage the full contract lifecycle for supplier engagements under established guidance.
- Review, draft, and negotiate standard buy-side commercial agreements, emphasizing SaaS, cloud services, privacy, professional services, marketing, equipment, facilities, and benefits contracts.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Privacy, Security, and Procurement teams to bridge gaps between contract terms and business, technical, compliance requirements.
- Support vendor dispute resolution by gathering data and coordinating with legal/business stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on contract renewals, amendments, rights, obligations, and risk exposure under existing agreements.
- Enhance contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and scalable self-service resources for efficiency.
- Collaborate with Legal Operations on CLM systems and AI-assisted contract review tools to optimize workflows.
- Drive cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives for Legal and company objectives.
- Ensure all vendor contracts align with Datadog's cloud security standards and data privacy frameworks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years as contracts professional with experience reviewing, redlining, negotiating commercial agreements, including data privacy/security in tech, benefits, marketing vendors.
- Ability to handle standard contracts independently, exercising judgment and escalating non-standard/high-risk issues.
- Demonstrated skill in risk identification across legal, operational, business terms, explaining risks, and proposing alternatives.
- Problem-solver identifying efficiency opportunities, supporting playbooks, training, workflow improvements.
- Organized, detail-oriented, managing multiple matters simultaneously in deadline-driven environments.
- Tech-savvy with aptitude for legal operations tools, CLM, AI review systems.
