As a Core NetCom Diagnostics Engineer at Ford in Dearborn, MI, you will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge diagnostic solutions for vehicle network communications. This full-time position focuses on core network systems critical to modern vehicles, including those supporting autonomy and electrification. You'll work with advanced protocols like CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet, ensuring robust diagnostics that enable seamless vehicle performance and rapid issue resolution. Your day-to-day impact will include:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in automotive network diagnostics, with proven expertise in vehicle communication protocols.
Essential skills include deep knowledge of CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet; proficiency in diagnostic tools (Vector suite, dSPACE); scripting in Python or CAPL; and experience with embedded systems debugging. Familiarity with AUTOSAR, ISO 14229 (UDS), and functional safety standards (ISO 26262) is highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Experience with design thinking methodologies and agile development practices is a plus.
