Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of bakery products according to Costco formulas and standards.
- Mix ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.
- Knead, proof, and shape dough.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers.
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure product quality.
- Ice and decorate baked goods.
- Ensure consistent product quality and appearance.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
- Rotate stock to ensure freshness (FIFO).
- Assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.
- Package and label bakery products.
- Stock display cases and shelves.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Answer customer questions and assist with product selection.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with training new bakery employees.
- Adhere to Costco's safety policies and procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing baking equipment and work areas.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager or Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate production records.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products.
- Adhere to allergen awareness protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register (if required).
