Responsibilities
- Assist members in selecting eyeglasses and frames based on their needs and preferences
- Take accurate measurements for pupillary distance (PD) and segment height
- Fit and adjust eyeglasses to ensure proper comfort and vision correction
- Dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses according to prescriptions
- Educate members on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Troubleshoot eyewear issues and provide solutions
- Process orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses using computer systems
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Assist with inventory management and stocking of optical supplies
- Clean and maintain optical equipment and instruments
- Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations
- Provide prompt and courteous member service at all times
- Answer phone calls and respond to member inquiries
- Schedule appointments for eye exams and fittings
- Handle member complaints and resolve issues effectively
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals
- Stay up-to-date on new eyewear products and technologies
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
- Assist with training new employees
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow department procedures for opening and closing duties
- Meet or exceed sales goals and performance metrics
- Adhere to Costco Wholesale's code of ethics and conduct
- Promote a positive and professional image of Costco Wholesale
