Responsibilities

- Interpreting prescriptions and providing lens recommendations
- Fitting eyeglasses and making necessary adjustments
- Dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses to members
- Providing instructions on proper lens care and handling
- Processing orders using computer systems
- Verifying insurance coverage and processing claims
- Maintaining accurate records of member transactions
- Stocking and cleaning the optical department
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures
- Answering member inquiries and resolving concerns
- Providing excellent customer service
- Following department procedures for inventory management
- Operating and maintaining optical equipment
- Assisting with frame selection and styling
- Performing basic eyeglass repairs
- Conducting visual acuity testing
- Measuring pupillary distance and segment heights
- Educating members on different lens options
