Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (experience)
- Prior experience in loss prevention, security, or related field preferred (experience)
- Knowledge of security procedures and loss prevention techniques (experience)
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment and other security systems (experience)

Responsibilities
- Monitor store premises using surveillance equipment and physical patrols.
- Identify and apprehend individuals engaged in theft or fraudulent activities.
- Conduct internal investigations related to loss prevention.
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records.
- Respond to alarms and security breaches.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and loss prevention.
- Provide assistance to law enforcement personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Train employees on loss prevention techniques and security protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels and investigate discrepancies.
- Conduct audits of cash handling procedures.
- Collaborate with store management to develop and implement loss prevention strategies.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and employees.
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer concerns related to security.
- Ensure the security of company assets, including merchandise, cash, and equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Operate and maintain security equipment, including CCTV systems and alarm systems.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay up-to-date on current security threats and loss prevention techniques.
- Collaborate with other Costco locations to share best practices in loss prevention.
- Testify in court proceedings as needed.
- Assist with the onboarding and training of new loss prevention personnel.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures.
- Provide security escorts for employees as needed
- Communicate effectively with management about security concerns
- Work with local police in COMMACK on crime prevention initiatives
