Responsibilities
- Wrapping meat products using wrapping machine
- Labeling meat products with accurate information
- Stocking display cases with wrapped meat products
- Operating meat grinder to prepare ground meat
- Cleaning and sanitizing meat department, including meat room and cooler
- Cleaning and sanitizing meat department equipment and utensils
- Restocking supplies in the meat department
- Monitoring temperature of meat products to ensure freshness
- Rotating meat products to ensure FIFO (first-in, first-out)
- Inspecting meat products for quality and freshness
- Trimming excess fat from meat products
- Weighing and pricing meat products
- Assisting customers with meat selections
- Providing excellent customer service
- Answering customer questions about meat products
- Following food safety guidelines and procedures
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Disposing of waste properly
- Operating and maintaining meat wrapping equipment
- Operating and maintaining meat grinding equipment
- Following company policies and procedures
- Working as part of a team to achieve department goals
- Attending safety meetings and training sessions
- Adhering to all safety regulations
- Reporting any safety hazards to management
