- Stock display cases with meat products, ensuring proper rotation and presentation
- Operate meat grinder to prepare ground meat products
- Clean and sanitize meat department, including meat room, cooler, equipment, and utensils
- Restock supplies, such as wrapping paper, labels, and cleaning solutions
- Monitor product temperatures to ensure food safety
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist customers with meat selection and provide information about products
- Answer customer questions and address concerns in a professional manner
- Weigh and price meat products accurately
- Prepare meat products for sale, including trimming and packaging
- Ensure that all meat products are properly labeled with accurate information
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures for product rotation
- Dispose of waste properly and maintain a sanitary environment
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management
