Responsibilities
- Assisting members in selecting eyeglass frames and lenses based on their needs and prescriptions
- Measuring pupillary distance (PD) and segment height accurately
- Adjusting and fitting eyeglasses to ensure proper comfort and vision
- Dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses under the supervision of a licensed optician
- Providing instructions to members on how to care for their eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Processing orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses using computer systems
- Verifying insurance eligibility and submitting claims
- Maintaining inventory of frames, lenses, and contact lenses
- Cleaning and organizing the optical department
- Assisting with frame selection and styling consultations
- Troubleshooting minor eyeglass repairs
- Handling member inquiries and resolving complaints promptly and professionally
- Following up with members regarding their orders and appointments
- Maintaining accurate records of member prescriptions and orders
- Adhering to all safety and hygiene standards
- Staying up-to-date on new products and technologies in the optical industry
- Providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth operations
- Participating in training and development opportunities
- Following company policies and procedures
- Operating and maintaining optical equipment
- Performing visual acuity screenings
- Pre-testing patients prior to eye exams
- Assisting with contact lens fittings and insertion/removal training
