Responsibilities
- Assist members in selecting and ordering eyeglasses
- Use computer systems to process orders and manage inventory
- Fit eyeglasses to members' faces and ensure proper alignment
- Dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses under the supervision of a licensed optician
- Provide prompt and courteous member service
- Answer member inquiries regarding eyewear and vision care
- Explain lens options and frame styles to members
- Measure pupillary distance and other relevant measurements
- Adjust frames to ensure a comfortable and proper fit
- Repair minor frame damage
- Maintain accurate records of member orders and prescriptions
- Process insurance claims and verify member eligibility
- Stock shelves and displays with eyewear and related products
- Clean and maintain optical equipment and work areas
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Handle cash and credit card transactions
- Follow department procedures for stocking and cleaning
- Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Stay up-to-date on new products and technologies in the optical industry
- Assist with marketing and promotional activities
- Provide support to other team members as needed
- Resolve member complaints and concerns in a professional manner
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with licensed opticians and other healthcare professionals
