Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately in high-volume pharmacy
- Counsel patients on medication use and side effects
- Verify prescription orders for completeness and accuracy
- Manage pharmacy inventory and order supplies
- Process insurance claims and resolve rejections
- Administer immunizations and vaccinations
- Perform medication therapy management reviews
- Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on care plans
- Conduct drug utilization reviews
- Handle controlled substances securely
- Train and mentor pharmacy technicians
- Monitor expiration dates and remove outdated stock
- Participate in quality assurance audits
- Respond to patient inquiries promptly
- Update patient records in electronic systems
- Implement pharmacy workflow improvements
- Promote wellness services and screenings
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
- Assist with prescription transfers
- Review for potential drug interactions
- Manage over-the-counter recommendations
