Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions
- Receive and verify prescription orders
- Enter patient information into the pharmacy system
- Prepare medications for dispensing, including counting, measuring, and labeling
- Retrieve prescriptions for customers
- Operate cash register and process customer transactions
- Answer phone calls and address customer inquiries
- Manage inventory and order medications and supplies
- Stock shelves and maintain cleanliness in the pharmacy area
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues
- Update patient records and maintain accurate documentation
- Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Provide immunizations under the direction of a pharmacist
- Monitor patient for adverse reactions after immunization
- Maintain accurate records of immunizations administered
- Educate patients on vaccines and potential side effects
- Ensure proper storage and handling of vaccines
- Assist with medication reconciliation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Assist with training new pharmacy technicians
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Provide excellent customer service at all times
- Assist with other pharmacy tasks as needed
- Manage expired medication disposal.
- Maintain accurate temperature logs for refrigerators.
