Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists in filling prescriptions
- Dispensing medications to customers under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Providing immunizations as directed by a pharmacist and in accordance with Tennessee law
- Verifying patient information and insurance coverage
- Maintaining patient records accurately and confidentially
- Ordering and stocking medications and supplies
- Managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstocking
- Operating and maintaining pharmacy equipment
- Answering phone calls and addressing customer inquiries
- Assisting customers with over-the-counter medications
- Processing insurance claims and resolving billing issues
- Handling cash and other forms of payment
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Adhering to all safety and security protocols
- Complying with all pharmacy laws and regulations
- Participating in continuing education and training programs
- Assisting with audits and inspections
