Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions
- Verifying prescription information and dosage accuracy
- Entering patient information and prescription details into the computer system
- Preparing and labeling medications for dispensing
- Handling and storing medications properly
- Maintaining accurate inventory of medications and supplies
- Ordering and stocking medications and supplies
- Processing third-party insurance claims
- Handling cash and operating the cash register
- Providing excellent customer service
- Answering phone calls and addressing customer inquiries
- Assisting customers with over-the-counter medication selections
- Administering immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Monitoring patients for adverse reactions after immunization
- Documenting immunization records accurately
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Adhering to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
- Participating in continuing education programs
