Responsibilities
- Assisting customers at the pharmacy counter
- Retrieving prescriptions for customers
- Ringing up orders using a cash register or POS system
- Answering phone calls and addressing customer inquiries
- Processing prescription orders accurately and efficiently
- Verifying patient information and insurance details
- Contacting prescribers for clarification or authorization
- Counting and measuring medications accurately
- Labeling and packaging prescriptions
- Maintaining inventory of medications and supplies
- Ordering medications and supplies as needed
- Stocking shelves and organizing the pharmacy area
- Cleaning and maintaining the pharmacy environment
- Assisting pharmacists with various tasks
- Providing excellent customer service
- Handling customer complaints and resolving issues
- Following all pharmacy policies and procedures
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
- Adhering to all state and federal regulations
- Operating and maintaining pharmacy equipment
- Assisting with insurance claims processing
