Responsibilities
- Assisting customers at the pharmacy counter
- Retrieving prescriptions for customers
- Ringing up orders using a POS system
- Processing payments
- Answering phone calls and addressing customer inquiries
- Ordering and stocking drugs and over-the-counter merchandise
- Assisting pharmacists with processing prescriptions
- Verifying prescription information
- Counting and measuring medications
- Labeling prescriptions
- Maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment
- Checking for expired medications
- Managing inventory
- Receiving and unpacking shipments
- Restocking shelves
- Assisting with insurance billing
- Processing third-party claims
- Providing excellent customer service
- Addressing customer complaints
- Referring customers to the pharmacist for consultation
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
- Adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Following pharmacy procedures and protocols
- Operating pharmacy equipment
- Performing other duties as assigned
