Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required (experience)
- Current and valid Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required (experience)
- Registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy required (experience)
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred (experience)
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, calculations, and drug interactions (experience)
- Familiarity with pharmacy law and regulations (experience)
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software and computer systems (experience)

Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Verify prescription information, including patient name, medication, dosage, and instructions
- Retrieve and prepare medications for dispensing
- Count, measure, and package medications
- Label prescriptions accurately and legibly
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workspace
- Stock and manage inventory of medications and supplies
- Order medications and supplies as needed
- Check for expired medications and remove them from inventory
- Process invoices and reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Operate cash register and handle customer transactions
- Answer telephone calls and address customer inquiries
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints
- Update patient profiles with current information
- Obtain patient insurance information and process claims
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medication therapy management programs
- Provide information to patients on proper medication usage and potential side effects
- Administer immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist (if certified)
- Participate in continuing education programs to maintain CPhT certification
- Comply with all federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations
- Assist with quality assurance programs to ensure accuracy and safety
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
- Support the pharmacy team in achieving its goals and objectives
- Assist with training new pharmacy technicians
- Monitor prescription refill requests and contact prescribers as needed
