Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions
- Retrieve and count medications
- Label and package prescriptions
- Assist customers at the pharmacy counter
- Answer phone calls and address customer inquiries
- Process prescription orders using a computerized system
- Maintain patient profiles and update information
- Verify insurance information and process claims
- Stock and organize medications and supplies
- Order medications and supplies as needed
- Check expiration dates and remove expired medications
- Assist with inventory management
- Prepare compounds under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies and procedures
- Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Operate cash register and handle financial transactions
- Assist with third-party billing processes
- Process invoices and make accounting entries
- Assist with quality assurance activities
- Provide excellent customer service to all members
- Resolve customer complaints and issues
- Collaborate with other pharmacy staff
- Attend training and continuing education programs
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
