Required Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions
- Retrieving and labeling medications
- Entering prescription information into the pharmacy system
- Verifying patient information and insurance details
- Processing insurance claims
- Compounding medications under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Maintaining accurate inventory of medications and supplies
- Ordering and stocking medications and supplies
- Answering phone calls and assisting customers with inquiries
- Providing excellent customer service
- Operating cash registers and processing payments
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Following all pharmacy policies and procedures
- Complying with all state and federal pharmacy laws
- Assisting with medication reconciliation
- Providing patient counseling on medications
- Administering vaccinations (if certified)
- Monitoring medication storage and expiration dates
- Preparing sterile products (if certified)
- Assisting with quality assurance activities
- Participating in continuing education programs
- Assisting with training new pharmacy technicians
- Managing prior authorizations
- Handling controlled substances in accordance with regulations
- Supporting the pharmacist in providing medication therapy management (MTM) services
