Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescriptions
- Verify prescription information for accuracy and completeness
- Retrieve and count medications
- Prepare labels for prescriptions
- Package and label medications for dispensing
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Order medications and supplies as needed
- Stock shelves and organize inventory
- Receive and process incoming orders
- Check expiration dates of medications
- Remove expired medications from inventory
- Enter prescription data into computer system
- Update patient profiles with accurate information
- Process insurance claims
- Handle cash and credit card transactions
- Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries
