Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists in filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Retrieving and labeling medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Operating cash registers and handling customer transactions.
- Providing excellent customer service and addressing customer inquiries.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Stocking and restocking medications and supplies.
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Answering phone calls and taking messages.
- Updating patient records and insurance information.
- Processing insurance claims and resolving billing issues.
- Following all pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Adhering to all state and federal regulations.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Assisting with compounding medications (if trained and certified).
- Measuring and weighing medications accurately.
- Preparing prescriptions for mailing or delivery.
- Verifying patient information and prescription details.
- Operating pharmacy equipment, such as pill counters and label printers.
- Assisting with medication recalls.
- Providing information to patients about their medications (under pharmacist supervision).
- Referring patients to the pharmacist for consultations.
- Assisting with the training of new pharmacy technicians.
- Participating in continuing education programs.
- Monitoring temperature and humidity levels in the pharmacy.
- Ensuring proper storage and disposal of medications.
- Processing returns and exchanges.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the pharmacist.
