Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming merchandise for accuracy and quality.
  • Count and document all delivered merchandise according to company procedures.
  • Key received goods into the computer system accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify packing slips and purchase orders to ensure correct items and quantities are received.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Unload trucks and move merchandise to designated storage areas.
  • Organize and maintain the receiving area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move and store merchandise safely.
  • Assist with inventory control procedures, including cycle counts and stock checks.
  • Prepare merchandise for stocking or delivery to sales floor.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding receiving issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all received goods.
  • Process returns and exchanges according to company policies.
  • Assist with the training of new receiving clerks.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper labeling and tagging of merchandise.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or overages.
  • Assist with the preparation of outgoing shipments.
