Required Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an accredited Pharmacy Program (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a registered pharmacist
  • Assist in the verification of prescription information and patient data
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
  • Answer phone calls and address inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking medications
  • Operate pharmacy equipment, such as dispensing machines and computers
  • Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Assist with compounding medications as needed
  • Counsel patients on medication usage and potential side effects
  • Monitor prescription refills and ensure timely delivery
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and initiatives
  • Assist with medication reconciliation processes
  • Prepare and package medications for dispensing
  • Verify medication dosages and routes of administration
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and patient information
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and protect patient privacy
  • Assist with the training of pharmacy technicians and other staff
  • Participate in continuing education programs to stay up-to-date on current pharmacy practices
  • Identify and report medication errors or adverse drug reactions
  • Assist with clinical pharmacy services, such as medication therapy management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising pharmacist
