Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications
- Entering prescription information into the pharmacy system
- Verifying patient information and insurance coverage
- Preparing and labeling prescription medications
- Counting and measuring medications accurately
- Packaging and dispensing medications to patients
- Providing information to patients about their medications
- Answering phone calls and addressing patient inquiries
- Maintaining accurate inventory of medications
- Ordering and receiving medications from suppliers
- Stocking shelves and organizing the pharmacy
- Cleaning and maintaining pharmacy equipment
- Ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations
- Assisting with medication compounding
- Performing quality control checks on medications
- Providing immunizations under pharmacist supervision
- Assisting with prior authorization processing
- Handling third-party billing inquiries
- Assisting with medication reconciliation
- Monitoring patient medication adherence
- Participating in pharmacy meetings and training programs
