Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications
- Entering prescription information into the pharmacy system
- Counting and measuring medications
- Preparing labels for prescription containers
- Retrieving medications from shelves
- Verifying patient information
- Answering phone calls and assisting customers
- Providing customer service at the pharmacy counter
- Processing insurance claims
- Maintaining inventory levels
- Ordering medications and supplies
- Checking for outdated medications
- Assisting with sterile compounding
- Following aseptic techniques
- Cleaning and maintaining pharmacy equipment
- Adhering to pharmacy policies and procedures
- Complying with all state and federal regulations
- Providing patient education on medications
- Assisting with medication reconciliation
- Participating in quality assurance programs
- Reporting any errors or discrepancies
- Assisting with inventory management
- Receiving and stocking medications
