Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Processing and preparing prescription orders under pharmacist supervision
- Verifying prescription information and dosage instructions
- Entering prescription data into the pharmacy computer system
- Maintaining accurate patient profiles and medication records
- Counting and measuring medications
- Labeling and packaging prescriptions
- Assisting with inventory management and stock control
- Ordering and receiving medications
- Storing medications properly and maintaining storage conditions
- Managing expired medications and disposing of them according to regulations
- Answering phone calls and addressing patient inquiries
- Providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Assisting patients with over-the-counter medication selection
- Processing insurance claims and resolving billing issues
- Handling cash and processing payments
- Maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy workspace
- Adhering to all pharmacy policies and procedures
- Complying with all state and federal regulations
- Assisting with quality assurance programs
- Participating in pharmacy staff meetings and training programs
- Assisting with medication reconciliation
- Providing patient education and counseling under pharmacist supervision
- Supporting the pharmacist in providing clinical services
- Performing other duties as assigned by the pharmacist
