Due to successful sales, we are open for hiring an additional Critical Power Architect to build long-term, positive relationships with our clients. In this role you will be responsible for the design, optimization and implementation of the main electrical infrastructure of a Data Center. Client contact and active involvement during the sales and execution phase will be part of your daily work. Among our clients are leading Data Center operators, consultants and (electrical) contractors.

Working within sales, you are the eyes and ears of our customers. We don’t wait but take initiative. We transform "That sounds interesting!" into actual contracts, paving the way for new avenues of business. Our ideal candidate has a creative and critical mind, can speak up and is able to convey complex information to different audiences.

Responsibilities
  • Designing the main electrical infrastructure of a Data Center, including all relevant interfaces.
  • Translating design outline letters into solutions that meet and exceed the client’s expectation.
  • Taking ownership of the design choices with the related functional and financial impact. Further developing of the technical relationship with end-clients, consultants and contractors.
  • Supporting the sales organization to enable the further development of global named accounts.
  • Developing close relationships with Siemens (international) operating capture and execution teams.
At Siemens in The Hague, the Center of Competence Data Centers focuses on the realization of multidisciplinary Hyperscale Data Center projects globally. Our team works in a rapidly expanding department with strong focus on the latest developments within energy technology in a very broad market. It’s our niche realizing projects from design phase up to hand over and we source our deliveries from our own factories.

Our portfolio consists of power distribution systems such as medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, busbar systems, protective relays, automation and monitoring systems and modular structures like E-Houses and Skids.

The team you’ll join consist of people, like Rahul and Walter as Account Managers and David as key expert. You report directly to Jean-Paul as Team Lead Data Center sales. You will be based in The Hague.

Your background
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in power engineering and at least 4 years of experience in the design of power transmission and distribution systems and / or projects ranging from medium voltage down to low voltage. Preferably in critical environments, like Data Centers.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, whilst maintaining sharp at the key details.
  • You have the resilience and determination to nurture both short and long design cycles.
  • A special interest in interface management (electrical, mechanical, controls and civil) and creativity to think beyond the industry standards / practices.
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to travel (up to 20%).
