Role Overview: Business Operations Manager

As the Business Operations Manager for Crusoe Spark, you will serve as the “Chief of Staff” for the Spark Business Unit. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain the operational backbone that allows us to scale our deployments from 20 to over 100 units per year. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical prowess, and hands-on execution.

A Day in the Life

Here’s a glimpse into what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Morning: Start your day by reviewing the latest financial performance reports for Crusoe Spark. Analyze unit economics and identify any manufacturing variances that need attention. Prepare a summary for the executive team.
  • Mid-day: Participate in a cross-functional meeting with Engineering, Sales, and Finance to align on the roadmap for new deployments. Discuss any potential roadblocks and work to find solutions collaboratively.
  • Afternoon: Work on economic modeling for new product initiatives. Analyze the ROI and Capex requirements to ensure that we are making sound investment decisions.
  • Evening: Wrap up the day by preparing a presentation for the weekly GTM sync, highlighting key metrics and progress towards our 2027 goal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Ownership: Track Spark’s financial performance, unit economics, and manufacturing variances. Own the business case for new deployments of Sparks and partnership opportunities.
  • Economic Modeling: Own the business-side of new products, modeling the ROI and Capex requirements.
  • Capacity Strategy: Align manufacturing throughput with the Sales and BD pipeline to ensure we are building the right units for the right customers in the right locations at the right time.
  • Organizational Rhythm: Design and implement the internal cadence for the Spark BU, including weekly GTM syncs and quarterly business reviews.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Drive results across Engineering, Sales, and Finance to ensure the organization is rowing toward the 2027 goal of 100+ units.
