Role Overview

Crusoe is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Cost Estimator to join our growing team in San Francisco. As a key member of our capital projects group, you will be responsible for driving cost modeling and ensuring financial accuracy across our data center construction projects. This role is critical in delivering predictable outcomes by providing detailed cost estimations and proactive cash flow forecasting, supporting Crusoe's global expansion.

A Day in the Life

As a Construction Cost Estimator, your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end estimating efforts for data center builds, from initial planning to construction execution.
  • Developing robust cost models that align with design intent, scope evolution, and delivery strategies.
  • Collaborating with design, procurement, and delivery teams to validate quantity take-offs and unit pricing.
  • Building and maintaining project cash flow forecasts to support financial planning, budget tracking, and funding requests.
  • Providing detailed estimates for Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA), Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), and mission-critical systems for both domestic and international projects.
  • Evaluating vendor and subcontractor proposals against internal benchmarks and historical data.
  • Analyzing variances and modeling cost impacts due to design changes, procurement risks, or schedule shifts.
  • Partnering with finance, real estate, and development teams to inform business cases and funding strategy.
  • Delivering concise cost reports, dashboards, and executive summaries with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Establishing scalable tools and repeatable processes to support Crusoe's infrastructure pipeline.
