As the Legal Counsel Director – Real Estate Development and Data Centers, you will be instrumental in supporting Crusoe's ambitious real estate developments and project financings. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel - Real Estate Development & Data Centers, you will lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of real estate acquisition, power, and project finance transactions. Your expertise will ensure timely and strategic legal support across all of Crusoe’s data center development projects.
Your day will be dynamic and multifaceted, encompassing a range of critical legal tasks. You might begin by reviewing and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with utility companies, ensuring favorable terms for Crusoe's data centers. You could then shift to conducting due diligence on potential real estate acquisitions, examining title reports, environmental assessments, and zoning regulations to identify and mitigate risks. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll provide legal guidance on construction projects, financing strategies, and joint venture opportunities. A significant portion of your day will be dedicated to drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring they align with Crusoe’s strategic goals and legal requirements. You'll also be responsible for presenting complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding.

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, active bar admission in any state, 5-7 years of experience in real estate acquisitions and power procurement, and knowledge of construction financing and loan due diligence processes are required.

Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills, strong judgment, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are crucial.
