You'll address complex accounting issues, provide guidance to your team, and collaborate with project managers to understand the financial implications of ongoing construction activities. You will also review and approve journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and oversee the preparation of audit schedules. Improving and documenting internal controls over construction spending, contract review, and subcontractor payments is also a key function. You will present regular financial updates to senior management and work closely with them to ensure strategic alignment. Identifying and implementing improvements to accounting systems and reporting tools will also be a recurring task. Finally, you will mentor and develop your team to maintain accuracy and consistency in all financial reporting. You will often be analyzing budget variances and making recommendations to improve financial performance and project outcomes.
