The Customer Facing Medical Manager in Medical Affairs is a pivotal role based in Brussels, Belgium, reporting to the BENELUX Medical Affairs Virology Lead. This position blends field-based and office-based responsibilities with a strong external focus, dedicating at least 50% of time to customer-facing activities. You will lead Medical Affairs initiatives in the HIV therapeutic area, provide expert medical support to cross-functional teams, and liaise with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals. This role demands strategic thinking, business acumen, and an enterprise mindset to drive scientific exchange, data generation, and compliance with pharmaceutical regulations. In the field, you will engage in meetings, presentations, and congresses, supporting scientific education events and speaker briefings. Build and maintain relationships with opinion leaders, payers, clinical investigators, and NGOs. Drive projects integrating scientific data into clinical decision-making, assist with Phase IV trials, and represent Gilead at local and international scientific meetings.
From the office, provide medical expertise for product launches, develop medical product information, stay abreast of scientific trends and competition, and generate insights from field interactions to identify data gaps and customer needs.
As Customer Facing Medical Manager, your core duties include:
To succeed in this role, candidates need a strong biomedical background, such as an MD, PharmD, or equivalent in life sciences. Relevant experience in HIV or virology Medical Affairs is essential, coupled with proven strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration skills. Excellent communication abilities, business acumen, and familiarity with pharmaceutical regulations in Belgium are required. You should thrive in a dynamic environment, with the ability to build KOL relationships and drive scientific projects. Fluency in English is mandatory, with Dutch or French as a plus for the Brussels location.
