We are a motivated and dedicated team housed within the Electrification & Automation business unit. Organizationally known as Verticals and Applications, we are focused on developing opportunities with global customers. We are also an experienced team when it comes to handling cross-regional business opportunities.

We are responsible for driving and negotiating business contracts with international customers, either directly or through a regional company. We take ownership from conception to acquisition as per the Siemens process guidelines when it comes to chasing business opportunities. For the Data Centers business (IEC World), we take the complete end-to-end responsibility right up to equipment delivery and project handover. We drive sophisticated solutions business on one hand involving E-House projects and push for conventional system business involving Medium Voltage and Low Voltage switchgear equipment and process automation on the other hand. We are also driving the IoT and Data Driven Business through a consultative selling approach. Our digital offerings towards customers include cloud (Electrification X) as well as On-Premise (SIMARIS Control) applications. We are the Electrification & Automation representative towards the Siemens Vertical Markets, and our focus verticals include Automotive, Chemicals, Data Centers, Infrastructure, Minerals, Oil and Gas, and Water to name a few.

We are seeking a leader to drive our customer solution architect team based in Erlangen, Germany and Chennai, India with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for developing sustainable applications for the Siemens portfolio across the Industry, Infrastructure and Power Verticals. As a leading player in energy management and distribution, Electrification & Automation offers innovative products, systems, solutions and services across the entire spectrum. You are expected to have an in-depth understanding of the electrification, automation and digitalization portfolio in the energy domain. Understanding the automation portfolio, networking protocols and cybersecurity topics will be a must. You will actively drive the energy transition towards net zero goals of our customers in these verticals. As an example, you will be responsible for developing control solutions for microgrids and renewable plants as well as in the upcoming field of Hydrogen. And you will build strong relationships with international clients and actively participate in the sales phase. A deep understanding of electrical power distribution systems is important.

Based in Erlangen, Germany, the candidate will join the international Solution Architects team. This dedicated group focuses on verticals and applications in Industries, Infrastructure and Power, catering to prominent operators, consultants, and contractors worldwide. Although possessing Industry-specific knowledge is advantageous, it is not required. If you are driven to make an impact by developing solutions for sustainable energy transition, this position offers a great opportunity to contribute to our growth and success.

You’ll make an impact

• You engage in consultative technical discussions with customers to understand specific business challenges, industry trends, and technical difficulties, and work closely with the Account Management team to develop account-specific strategies.
• You develop customer-tailored end-to-end blueprints together with the Solution Engineering teams and implement roadmaps considering direct and indirect implementation channels.
• You lead a team and are responsible for translating customers' complex technical requirements into clear technical vision, digital threads, use cases and scenarios.
• You ensure clear technical documentation and solution presentations, and you maintain strong technical knowledge of industry trends and competitive solutions, as well as broaden knowledge of our entire One Tech capabilities.
• You are responsible for supporting the development of solution-based automation and digitalization concepts.
• You act as a bridge between Account Management teams and Solution Engineering/PLM teams, you drive technical aspects of business case development and collaborate on sophisticated technical proposals.
• You orchestrate collaboration across internal and external partners to co-create complex solutions, and you deliver market feedback to relevant parts of the organization.

• You have many years of experience in the field of power transmission and distribution systems and/or projects ranging from medium voltage down to low voltage in critical environments.
• You have experience in the design of communication infrastructure concepts including knowledge about most common communication protocols, and you have a basic understanding of integration of different third-party portfolio elements (inverters, UPS, batteries, and transformers), network design and calculation.
• You have communication technology knowledge (hardware, protocols, architecture development).
• You can communicate, present and influence key technical partners at all levels, and juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
• You are eager and energetic, using your skills and initiative to seek out opportunities instead of waiting for it to come to you.
• You have the resilience and determination to nurture short and long design cycles, and you have an interest in interface management and creativity to think beyond the industry standards and practices.
• Willingness to travel, a Master's degree, and proficiency in German and English completes your profile.
