The Field Application Scientist - NGS will provide technical field support for IDT’s xGen/NGS customers, regarding product design and end use.  This position will assist Sales to identify, convert and support potential/existing customers.  This position will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize customer requirements for future NGS product development.

This position will service the Northeast area: Boston, MD, NJ, NY. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provides technical field support for IDT NGS customers, including experimental design and troubleshooting
  • Represents IDT’s products to molecular biology community at large, including presentations of established technologies at industry trade shows
  • Collaborates with Product Management, Applications Support, Customer Care and Sales to identify key customer requirements for future product development efforts
  • Works closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure the value of the NGS product line is communicated clearly and effectively to customers
  • Maintains strong working relationships within Research, Manufacturing, Marketing, Product Management and Product Development, Customer Support and Sales

 

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree (in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics
  • 5+ years of experience in wet lab and NGS instruments, their workflows, troubleshooting and outputs required
  • Experience with public speaking/presentation experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting various library preparation methods and targeted enrichment processes required

Travel & Motor Vehicle Record Requirements:

  • This position requires up to 50% flying and/or driving travel, which includes overnight stays.  Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Masters or PhD degree preferred
  • Experience within the genomics industry
  • Experience working with Sales or commercial organizations/teams

The annual salary range for this role is $85,000.00-$125,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
