The Senior Counsel, Cytiva EMEA will provide Legal support across multiple Cytiva Operating Companies based out of our office in  Amersham (UK), Freiburg (Germany), Basel or Fribourg (Switzerland). The role entails working closely with business and functional teams, as well as certain strategic customer accounts.

This position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Commercial, is part of the legal department, and will be an on-site role available to applicants based in Freiburg, Germany, Basel or Fribourg, Switzerland.

What you will do:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and direct procurement agreements as well as other strategic business agreements and transactions

• Applying legal and business judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention

• Supporting initiatives of the COO with a focus on continuous improvement activities in the Commercial space

• Providing legal & compliance training to the business, Legal support to certain manufacturing sites in region

• Managing disputes and litigation, outside counsel to defined budgets when brought in to assist and provide region legal support to other parts of Cytiva and Danaher on an ad hoc basis

Who you are

• JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership (or equivalent) in Germany or Switzerland.  English and German language proficiency essential.

• Significant business law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department, including but not limited to drafting, negotiating and closing complex business transactions in a regulated environment (i.e. purchase and sales agreements), preferably with experience gained in a commercial role within the healthcare or life sciences industry.

• strong project management and prioritization skills, ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk calls.

• Proven team player with ability to work across all levels of the organization including multiple functional and business stakeholders.
