The Senior Design Engineer-Mechanical Engineering - Upstream is responsible for Hands on working on the Mechanical engineering side of the Upstream projects which will include the complete Mechanical design cycle from Conceptualization, Detail design, Modelling, Detail drawing, Review drawings, Build BOM in PLM systems, Verification and Validation.

This position reports to the Manager, Upstream Hardware Engineering and is part of the CTO team located in Bangalore and will be an on-site role.

What you will do:

• Join the engineering team as a Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical, responsible for executing end-to-end mechanical design activities for upstream industrial hardware projects. This includes conceptualization, detailed hand calculations (including basic structural analysis), 3D modelling, drawing creation, and product release using PLM tools.

• Lead the creation and management of large, complex Bills of Materials (BOMs), and drive change management processes through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), ensuring accurate documentation and traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support verification and validation efforts by planning and executing mechanical testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance with performance and reliability standards.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Extensive experience (4- 6 years) in mechanical design and development, with a strong background in executing full design cycles for industrial hardware products.
• Proficient in performing hand calculations for structural design, with strong skills in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation using tools such as Creo, Inventor, and SolidWorks. Experienced in BOM management and working within PLM systems including Windchill
• Experienced in managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Requests (ECRs), with a solid understanding of change control processes and product lifecycle documentation.
• Strong collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work across cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, and product management, while supporting verification, validation, and sustaining activities.
