The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for a software team developing Aivia, an AI-enabled 3D microscopy image visualization and analysis software that integrates a wide range of machine learning (including deep learning) and image-processing algorithms, virtual reality hardware, and 3rd-party application software.  Join us to lead a team, building software which accelerates breakthroughs in life sciences and healthcare.

This position reports to the Senior Manager – R&D and is part of the AIVIA software development team located in Bellevue, WA and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers to build competitive and state-of-the-art AI image analysis software solutions.

• Collaborate with product management, software, and algorithm engineers to design and implement complex, high-quality features.

• Own technical strategy: identify challenges, propose solutions, and introduce innovative technologies.

• Drive architectural decisions and ensure scalability and maintainability.

• Champion agile practices and predictable delivery.

• Hire, coach, and develop talent in an inclusive, growth-oriented environment.

• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles.

• 3+ years of experience with C#, C++, and modern software development tools.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and implementing software architecture for enterprise-scale applications.

• Track record of delivering at least 3 enterprise-scale projects within agreed timelines and quality standards in an agile development environment.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience with 3D graphics (OpenGL, VTK, WebGL).

• Knowledge of ML, computer vision, and image processing.

• Familiarity with microscopy software (ImageJ, Imaris, etc.)

The annual salary range for this role is $125k to $155k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. #L1-WT1
