The Team Leader (1st Shift) is responsible for managing a team of Material Handlers to oversee picking/staging/line clearance in support of plant production.  This role is the leader in keeping our production lines producing and our inventory turning.  The Team Leader will help control the labor to ensure all departments have work available and staged.  They will also be the first chain in our problem-solving process and work closely with the Materials Operations Manager and Planning Manager to learn processes and provide their input for continuous improvement.  They will own compliance to standard work and any escalations or improvement needing to be addressed by management.

This position is part of the Deland Materials Team and will work onsite in Deland Florida, reporting to the Materials Operations Manager.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Closely work with planners and other materials team members to identify production gaps with schedules & inventory. Manage responsibilities for daily management and use SAP & DSI transactions to help direct consumption and movement of materials.

  • Help support our inbound and outbound process with cycle count and put away. Also, maintain 5s and safety goals.

  • Provide training to new hires & help create SOP’s to make training better. Help provide insight and direction for day-to-day problem solving with the operations team.

The essential requirements of the job include

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in Warehouse or Inventory Control

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push, and pull for a minimum of 8 hours/day.

  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lbs

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Continuous improvement

  • Kanban

  • POU or Material Supermarkets
