As Data Protection Manager at CrowdStrike, you will lead the enterprise data protection strategy and team in a fully remote capacity across the United States. This pivotal leadership role involves developing comprehensive data protection programs, building high-performing teams, and establishing governance frameworks aligned with business goals and compliance standards. Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive data security initiatives that protect sensitive information while enabling innovation on our Falcon platform. Your work will directly support CrowdStrike's mission to stop breaches by ensuring robust data handling, classification, and protection across our global operations.
In this role, you will provide strategic leadership by building and mentoring a data protection team, developing the enterprise data classification framework, and establishing governance policies. You will manage programs including data protection controls, ownership models, handling standards, impact assessments, and stakeholder relationships with Legal, IT, and Product teams. Technically, guide DLP solutions, eDiscovery, data inventory, retention, and disposal. For risk management, create assessment methodologies, metrics, and ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
Hire, develop, and lead your team while overseeing data stewardship and lifecycle management, embodying privacy by design principles.
Candidates need 5+ years in privacy or information security, 2+ years specialized in data protection, and team management experience. Deep technical knowledge includes data protection tools, classification methodologies, eDiscovery platforms, and cloud security controls. Business acumen covers budget management, translating technical needs to value, and cross-functional implementation. A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field is required, with certifications like CIPM, CIPP, or CISSP preferred. Additional expertise in data governance, regulatory compliance, and influencing senior leaders is essential, alongside excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with CrowdStrike's Falcon platform and remote-first collaboration tools is a plus.
