Patient Care Technician

DaVita is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our outpatient dialysis clinic in Tampa, Florida.

As a PCT, you will provide essential hands-on care to patients with end-stage renal disease under the supervision of registered nurses.

Your role is critical in delivering life-sustaining dialysis treatments in a compassionate and safe environment.

You will monitor patients throughout their treatment, ensuring their comfort and safety.

Key tasks include setting up and maintaining dialysis equipment to clinic standards.

Accurately record vital signs and other patient data for the care team.

Educate patients on their treatment plans and kidney health to empower self-management.

Collaborate closely with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other team members.

This position requires physical stamina for long shifts and flexibility to float between local clinics.

  • Willing to float between local clinics if needed (experience)
  • Flexible schedule including mornings and evenings (experience)
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care (experience)
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in healthcare or dialysis (experience)
  • CNA or PCT certification (experience)
  • Bilingual skills (experience)
  • Knowledge of kidney disease (experience)
  • Experience with dialysis equipment (experience)
  • Strong teamwork experience (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment
  • Set up dialysis equipment for treatments
  • Maintain and troubleshoot dialysis machines
  • Record vital signs accurately
  • Document patient data in medical records
  • Educate patients on treatment procedures
  • Teach patients about kidney health management
  • Collaborate with RNs and care team members
  • Assist in ensuring clinic safety protocols
