Summary

The Director of Payroll Implementation is responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with local, state, and international regulations. You will lead a dynamic team, driving continuous improvement in payroll systems, policies, and operational workflows to support Deel’s mission of simplifying global payroll for businesses of all sizes. Your insights and leadership will be essential in shaping Deel’s global payroll strategy, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation in payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new operational procedures and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Standardize processes across various operations teams to ensure consistency and quality.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new systems and procedures seamlessly.

  • Proactively identify operational issues and moments of friction within teams and processes.

  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine underlying problems and develop sustainable solutions.

  • Implement corrective actions and process improvements to prevent recurrence of issues.

  • Develop and implement KPIs to measure the performance of operations teams.

  • Monitor and analyze KPI data to track progress, identify areas for improvement and drive actions to improve further.

  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on operational performance and improvement initiatives.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the operations teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in payroll management, with a deep understanding of global payroll systems, processes, and regulations.

  • 5 years management experience

  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing payroll teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Hands-on experience managing payroll for a multi-national workforce across multiple jurisdictions, including complex tax and compliance issues.

  • Ability to analyze complex payroll data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions to improve payroll operations.

  • Track record of driving process improvements, streamlining operations, and implementing scalable systems for growing organizations.

  • Familiarity with payroll software and tools and the ability to integrate payroll systems with other business platforms.
