In this pivotal role within Deel's COGS (Immigration & Mobility, Non-US) team, you'll manage end-to-end global mobility programs, ensuring seamless relocations and international assignments for employees worldwide. Specializing in Australia, you'll handle complex immigration cases, from VEVO checks and visa processing to renewals, cancellations, and compliance with OMARA regulations. As a Registered Migration Agent (RMA), you'll liaise with government authorities, local providers, and EORs, delivering exceptional client service while contributing to product planning and special projects. Your expertise will directly support Deel's mission to break down borders, attract top global talent, and foster an inclusive economy.

Summary

The Immigration Consultant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s global mobility programs, ensuring seamless and compliant relocation and international assignment processes for Deel’s employees worldwide. You will ensure that employees who are relocating or on international assignments have a smooth transition, while also ensuring compliance with tax, legal, and immigration requirements in various jurisdictions. Your role will also involve tracking policies, ensuring compliance, and offering expert advice on relocation issues while contributing to Deel's ability to attract and retain top global talent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely, accurate case completion in alignment with SLAs and internal quality standards

  • Coordinate, schedule and participate in calls, consultations, interviews

  • Deliver outstanding client service through clear, professional communication and proactive case management

  • Ensuring and maintaining compliance in their assigned country in accordance with relevant immigration laws and regulations, operational rules, and RACI

  • Contributing to mobility product planning and scoping

  • Managing daily tasks related to EORs such as assessing right-to-work requirements and submitting immigration applications to the local authorities.

  • Liaising with local providers and government authorities to provide solutions to complex immigration matters

  • Providing support to EORs and clients for mobility-related questions or concerns through all available communication channels

  • Managing the entire mobility lifecycle for non-nationals including work authorization checks, visa processing, renewals and cancellations

  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of the mobility operations in the assigned countries.

  • Work on special projects, as assigned

  • Maintain compliance with OMARA requirements, including Code of Conduct obligations, documentation standards, and annual CPD

  • Conduct VEVO checks and ensure adherence to employer sponsorship obligations when applicable

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of progressive mobility experience, with at least 2–3 years as an Immigration Consultant or in similar roles

  • Must be a Registered Migration Agent (RMA) with OMARA.

  • Ideally law degree or similar field or paralegal

  • Fluent in English

  • Strong knowledge of the key immigration categories

  • Excellent communication and the ability to find solutions under pressure, with thoughtful people management and mentorship skills

  • Ability to interpret and communicate immigration policies and processes
