Summary

Plays a vital role in maintaining financial health by ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective accounting practices. This position supports the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and contributes to the development and improvement of financial policies and procedures. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role ensures that the company operates within legal guidelines across all locations.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process

  • Assist with improving, developing, documenting, and implementing accounting and finance related policies and procedures to support the company’s scale

  • Manage and comply with government reporting requirements, statutory financial statements and tax filings, sales tax, franchise tax, multiple taxes in the states, etc.

  • Support and assist with internal reports and reconciliations

  • Ad-hoc projects

  • Work with external auditors

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant / CPA with at least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably with audit experience

  • Big 4 experience from high tech departments (advantage)

  • Well-organized with ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to details

  • Proficiency with systems and MS office

  • Experience with Netsuite (advantage)

  • Team player, strong communication and interpersonal skills
