Day in the Life

As a Financial Accountant, your day will be varied and challenging. You will be responsible for month-end reporting processes for the Ireland entity, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data. You will also assist with specific reporting processes for the UK and group entities. A significant part of your role involves variance analysis, where you'll investigate discrepancies, prepare commentary, and liaise with local Finance & Strategy and operational teams to resolve queries.

Furthermore, you will prepare balance sheet reconciliations for entities within the UKI region, identifying and resolving any variances. You'll contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with local accounting standards. You will also collaborate with both internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations. You'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

In addition to your core responsibilities, you will mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team development. You will also have the opportunity to support ad hoc projects for the group, which may involve process improvements and automation initiatives. The role operates on a hybrid model requiring you to be in the office three days a week.
